About me

Henriëtte Mees ten Oever (1962)

Background

Henriëtte Mees ten OeverChange has always naturally occurred throughout my life. The many relocations and travels have certainly contributed to this. Continuously meeting different people, new encounters, questions or challenges, which naturally led me to keep exploring new perspectives. I have always had a wide range of interests, never knowing exactly what I wanted to "become", but allowing myself to be guided by what came my way and what I wanted to learn and explore myself. Among other things, this has led to a broad work experience in which I have explored many different aspects of business. This, together with my personal ‘de-envelopment’, strong intuition, qualities and interests, has led to Mees ten Oever Coaching & Consultancy.

Education and work experience

In addition to a background in business administration, I have always worked in business services. Over the course of my career, there has been a shift in which commercial management positions made way for more Human Resources oriented positions (staff and line management). In these positions I have also coached people and given a lot of trainings. In my last position as an employee, as a senior consultant at an organizational consultancy firm, I was particularly involved in Women Resources Management. During that time my interest in starting my own company was born and it was then that I discovered my talent for making people aware of their own strengths. In addition to various human-centred workshops and trainings in the field of Marketing & Sales, Management/Leadership, Human Resources Management, Coaching, Self-development and Consciousness Development/Awareness both in The Netherlands and abroad, my own acquired insights are the most important baggage that I bring with me, and which I share with others since 2003 through Mees ten Oever Coaching & Consultancy.

Sources of inspiration and development

My greatest source of inspiration is to live and work from my own inner strength and balance and to inspire others from there. Being connected to that inner wisdom creates peace, clarity and insight. This inner strength is of course always present within every person. However, the degree to which we consciously interact with it is different and variable and becomes more clear through consciousness development, (emotional) awareness, inspiration and insight. External sources of inspiration for me include Ken Blanchard, Daniel Ofman and John Whitmore for their business administration and management insights and Deepak Chopra and Eckhart Tolle for their insights on consciousness development and (emotional) awareness.

During my sabbatical (2000 - 2001) I attended several workshops in The U.S. by Deepak Chopra (meditation / mindfulness), Ken Blanchard (servant leadership) and Caroline Myss (body consciousness). In 2005 and 2006 I travelled to India to go through two journeys of awareness and consciousness in which that inner strength clearly revealed itself to me. In the years since, further integration and a deepening has taken place. Further expansion also took place with regard to the Core Quadrant, Authentic (or Nonviolent) Communication, the power of Emotional Awareness and Conscious Breathing.

Vision & method

In my view, true change is only possible if one is intrinsically motivated to reflect upon oneself and take responsibility. This is a precondition for achieving results. By working with my clients from a place of respect, trust and empathy, I create space for the underlying emotions and obstacles, and support the client’s process in finding answers and clarity. After all, our emotions are important signposts to our inner strength. In addition, consciousness development and insight are the keys to change that lead to new and more effective behavior. My method is practical and intuitive and based on a balance between rationality and feeling. My approach is integral, always tailor-made, compassionately confrontational, the atmosphere is accessible. My objective is that every trajectory is concluded with clear and solid results.
